First Unitarian Church of St. Louis is governed by a board of trustees working in partnership with our Minister who functions as Head of Staff. The board consists of elected officers: A president, president-elect, secretary and treasurer and elected board members. A slate of candidates is proposed by a nominating committee that is assembled yearly for that purpose, and then voted on by the entire congregation at the annual meeting in May. The board meets on the second Monday of every month at 7pm at church and visitors are welcome.
We are currently reviewing our church-wide organization through the Governance Task Force. The Governance Task Force is an ad hoc working group lookng at the governance of our church. The task force is evaluating current governance structures and processes from a functional perspective. The ultimate goal is to make sure the governance structures support the current mission of the church with enough flexibility to adapt to future needs.
