A Little Help From My Friends with Carl Serbell
The UUA Statement of Shared Values places Love at the center of our shared values of Interdependence, Equity, Transformation, Pluralism, Generosity and Justice. Love is kaleidoscopic and hard to define, but we’ll examine the power and the spiritual discipline of the Love that calls us to act on our shared values. The interlude will be the Beatles’ “I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends” with our worship band, and Carole King’s “You’ve Got A Friend” with Tim Gardner and Melinda Monroe will be our prelude.
This week we welcome Carl Serbell to the pulpit. Carl (he/him) is retired from a career in corporate training and is a life-long Unitarian who discovered his Humanist identity only recently. He and Yvonne moved to St. Louis from Connecticut and joined Eliot Unitarian Universalist Chapel in 2016. In Connecticut, they were active in The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport.

Water Communion
Each fall as we kick off the church year, we symbolize our reunion by combining water in a shared ritual. Love, like water, persists. It doesn't argue, it just flows, relentlessly. Let us know the source of the water you bring this year by using this form. Share with us the sources of love in your life and how you persist in times of turbulence and uncertainty. Entries will be used in the worship service on Sunday, September 13th. Please submit your sources by Friday, September 11th and don't forget to bring your water with you on that Sunday.
