Aug. 29 (1:00 pm) to visit the exhibit. Why We Serve: Native Americans in the United States Armed Forces.  Why We Serve: Native Americans in the United States Armed Forces honors the Native Americans who have served in the US military, often in extraordinary numbers, since the American Revolution. The exhibition offers a comprehensive look at Native military involvement and explores Native American military service from its origins to the present day. It highlights the contributions Native Americans have made to the US military throughout our country’s history. We We Serve: Native Americans in the United States Armed Forces is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the National Museum of the American Indian.
