Love at the Center Book Club (online) [1]

This book club explores the moral principles of our Unitarian Universalist Association Values statement: Interdependence, Justice, Equity, Transformation, Pluralism, Generosity, and Justice. Books are selected that reflect UU values on a rotating basis and by member vote. Engaging books in a wide variety of genres is encouraged. Book titles are announced monthly and newcomers are always welcome. Meetings are held on Zoom generally on the first Sunday of the month at 7:00 pm. Please sign-up online [2]or in Fellowship Hall.
February 1st, 2026 selection: The Fall of Affirmative Action by Justin Driver. For decades, affirmative action reshaped not just American higher education but the broader society, opening doors that had been closed for centuries and transforming who entered the pathways to power. But the Supreme Court in 2023 killed affirmative action in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, a decision hailed by the right as a triumph of conservative colorblindness and decried by the left as requiring the end of racial equity.
