"The Gun Violence Prevention Movement: How You Can Make a Difference"
Presenter:  Gail Wechsler

In recent years, many troubling pieces of legislation have been introduced at the state and federal levels to loosen gun laws.  The Missouri General Assembly in particular each year considers bills that would allow guns in many sensitive locations such as houses of worship, bars, sports arenas and college campuses. Hear about the work of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense to fight this trend and learn how you can get involved.  You can find out more about this organization HERE.
Gail Wechsler is the volunteer St. Louis Faith Outreach Lead for the Missouri Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.  In this role, she engages in outreach to faith-based and humanist communities on the critical work of reducing gun violence.  She has extensive experience doing advocacy work, having spent close to nine years as Director of Domestic Issues/Social Justice at the Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis. She also is a past Vice President for Social Responsibility and past Board members (and current member) of Central Reform Congregation.  In her day job, she is Library Director of the Law Library Association of St. Louis.
