Poetry in the Bible

Mondays January 11, 18, 25 and February 1, 8 | 6:00-7:30 | Clark Room

This informal course will look at poetry in the Hebrew Bible, specifically in some of the Psalms, Ecclesiastes, and The Song of Songs (and maybe Genesis, Isaiah, and Job, too). Participants will learn to identify some of the forms, structures, and dynamics of biblical poetry. This exploration is meant to be informative, but more than that it will be fun! Along the way we will learn the Aleph Bet, explore ancient cultures, and meet some ancient poets whose hearts and minds continue to shape modern artistry to this very day!  Presented by Brian Mason, Ministerial Intern– Sign-Up in Fellowship Hall.
