7:30 – 8:30 – Programming Options: 

Margaret Sanger & Eugenics – Member Jerry O'Brien (SIUE professor in Social Welfare Policy and researcher in historical social justice issues) discusses his new article in the journal Social Work. In this article he looks at Sanger’s eugenic beliefs and her real relationship to the American and Nazi eugenic movements. Current day reverberations (the election cycle controversy pertaining to Planned Parenthood) are also explored.  

Paint Like That – Member and artist Jim Kirby will encourage you to stretch your imaginations and creative talents through inventive painting exercises.  All supplies provided – wear old clothes and plan to have a good time.
