Engaging
At First Unitarian Church, we offer many opportunities to take part in our community and to make connections. We have several ongoing groups that are open to anyone who is interested in participating. Contact lhunt [at] firstuustlouis.org (Administrator Lynn Hunt )if you would like more information on how to join any of these groups.

ERDE; Earth Reverence Dedicants Extraordinaire
ERDE is a group dedicated to honoring the Earth and its cycles through worship and fellowship.
Do you long to explore your spiritual connection with nature? Come join with us as we support each other in discovering our unique spiritual path and relationship with the wonder, beauty and power of the natural world. We celebrate the Solstices, Equinoxes, and many of the cross-quarter holidays with fun, intergenerational gatherings. These can include crafts, special ceremonies, and music related to the season. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to connecting with you as lovers of the Earth!
Makers Ministry
The Makers Ministry gathers monthly to enjoy fellowship and create handmade shawls, blankets, and comfort items to share with others as a symbol of church support. Anyone is welcome to drop-in to the meetings to learn more about knitting and other crafting activities as a spiritual practice. Please check the calendar for meeting times.

Choir - Music Program

The First Unitarian Choir is an all-volunteer ensemble of twenty to thirty members of all ages. Their goal is to provide participants with an opportunity to grow musically and spiritually and to have fun. Under the direction of Dr. Joel Knapp and accompanied by Allen Hoffman, the choir serves the First Unitarian church community with a diversity of music to lift the spirits and enhance the worship experience.
New singers are welcome. If you choose to join, the commitment is modest:
The choir rehearses 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from late August through early June. They sing in two or three services each month with one major choral work in December and May.
Partner Church
The Partner Church Program's purpose is to maintain and expand the relationship between

First Unitarian Church of St. Louis and our partner church in Csokfalva, Romania in the region of Transylvania. Through our support of the church, we are promoting liberal religion, developing international friendships, learning about the historic roots of our own faith tradition, and creating opportunities within our own congregation for pilgrimage, hospitality and service.
Ongoing activities of our committee include: travel to and from Transylvania, financial assistance to students from our partner congregation attending Unitarian high schools, universities and seminaries outside the village, supplementing our partner church minister's salary, and helping fund special projects.
At the core of this international program is the development of lasting friendships across national boundaries and, in our case, in an area once considered a part of the "Soviet Bloc."
Women's Alliance
The Women's Alliance promotes community among the women of the church through service

and learning in fellowship with friends. Members of the Alliance use their time, talent and resources to advance the Mission of the church.
The Alliance meets every other Tuesday in person for a brown bag lunch and a program. Click here to see their programming schedule. On alternate Tuesdays, they do a drop-in Zoom chat. In the summer, the group generally meets once a month for lunch.
Activities include:

Opportunity Shop - the 'OP Shop', is a resale shop tucked into a little room off Fellowship Hall. Drop in on any Sunday after services. There are bargains to be had and all sales benefit our Scholarship Program and other non-profits.
Women's Alliance Scholarship - Every year the Alliance sponsors a scholarship for a Unitarian woman who is continuing her education or returning to school. An annual call for applications occurs every year and is announced in the Enews and pulpit announcements.
Young Adult Group
The Young Adult Group (YAG) promotes fellowship and friendship among persons in their 20s and 30s through service, learning, and shared experiences. They have a social gathering once a month at the church, and have additional activities throughout the year.
