"Jazz Sunday"
Worship Committee
The relationship between Unitarians and Jazz is a long story. In our current hymnal are included some jazz songs like duke Ellington’s "Come Sunday". Today we will have guest jazz musicians, the reflections of Dwight Homer on the "I and Thou" of Jazz performance as a spiritual practice. He will be considering improvisation, shared composition and the role of the audience in the conversations of jazz.
Nursery care provided.

First Unitarian Church of St. Louis Affirms
Reverend Thomas M. Perchlik as Our Settled Minister
The vote is in! With a resounding affirmation of 99.4% of voting members, we called Reverend Thomas Perchlik as our next settled minister at a special church meeting this past Sunday, April 17th.
After the voting result was announced, Rev. Thomas and his wonderful wife, Amy Genova, re-entered the sanctuary to loud cheering, applause, and even a few tears of happiness from his new congregation. His warm acceptance was followed by a brief summary of their plans for the near future: saying goodbye to their previous congregation in Muncie, Indiana; finding a house in St. Louis; and celebrating the wedding of their eldest daughter, Emily, in August. Reverend Thomas will begin his ministry here in August.
Following Thomas’ acceptance, members of the Ministerial Search Committee promptly changed their name badges to “Ministerial Found Committee.” Below is a photo of Thomas with the delighted committee: (left to right) Tony Fathman, Joan Kindleberger, Rev. Thomas Perchlik, Chris Fawcett, Jeanette Myers, Cait McQuade and Jeff Cary.
